Ozil wants Arsenal fans to inspire another Bayern-esque result against Barcelona

If Arsenal can defy the odds at the Emirates Stadium tonight and prove all the doubters wrong by beating the treble winning Barcelona side in the first leg of our Champions League knockout tie, it will send us Arsenal fans into raptures of delight.

But our German international star Mesut Ozil wants the fans to act like the players have already given them something to shout about and make some serious noise throughout the big game this evening. Our creative midfielder thinks that the Emirates crowd has a big part to play if the Gunners are to get the right result tonight but he also feels that the team has got it in them, as proved when we shocked the football world earlier this season by beating Bayern Munich.

Wenger should have taken Cazorla off MUCH earlier!

Arsenal fans just love beating Tottenham, and we missed a big chance to put more distance between us in the League by only getting a draw at the Emirates yesterday, but would you say that considering our 5-1 mauling to Bayern Munich on Wednesday, we have bounced back by retrieving a point yesterday?

Wenger seemed to think that the draw felt like a win as we were behind for most of the game. He said afterwards: “I think we have shown character today because we were a bit on the ropes and we responded. Every time we have a disappointment I feel we respond well in the game after.

Stats prove Arsenal beating Bayern was NO fluke

With most reports giving the Arsenal keeper Petr Cech the Man of the Match award for his brilliant display which helped Arsenal beat the German giants Bayern Munich and get our Champions League campaign back on track last night, you can understand why some people would say that the Gunners got lucky.

And with Pep Guardiola and his players having enjoyed a massive amount of the ball, with Arsenal having less than 30 percent possession on our own ground, this might seem to be the case. But this would be ignoring the way that Arsene Wenger set up his team and the tactics worked to perfection.

Have Arsenal now got the measure of Guardiola teams?

Maybe we are going over the top with the confidence and belief surging around Arsenal Football Club at the minute, but we did just become the first team this season to beat Pep Guardiola´s Bayern Munich. The German´s have been setting all sorts of records both individually and as a team so I think we are allowed to rave about our win.

And a Metro report has revealed that Arsenal are not just the first team to beat the German Bundesliga champions this season, but we are the first team to beat the Bayern team of Guardiola as well as his Barcelona side who were on top of the world when they lost to us back in 2011, with a certain young player called Jack Wilshere running the show.

Shaqiri to snub Liverpool for SHOCK Arsenal transfer?

Maybe now that Arsenal have not been drawn to face the German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in the knockout stage of the Champions League, for a change, then their manager Pep Guardiola will not mind selling us one of his players.

And by all accounts, the Switzerland international midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri is not really a part of the Spanish manager’s plans for the club’s future anyway. But I did not realise that he was even a possible transfer target for the Gunners either, until I saw the Metro report that claims not only is Arsene Wenger keen on signing Shaqiri, but that the Frenchman is closing to completing the deal to bring him to the Emirates stadium in January.

Could Arsenal get Khedira cheap after Bayern back off?

It could be back on, Arsenal fans, after our longed for transfer hopes of bringing Sami Khedira to join his World Cup winning team mates Lukas Podolski, Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker received a big boost from the Spanish media today.

Apparently Khedira’s wage demands were the first stumbling block, with the 27-year old Germany international asking for around £150,000 a week, which would make him the best paid player at the club. Then when it was being reported that Khedira had lowered his demands a bit in order to force the move through, we got the bad news that Bayern Munich wanted him and were strong favourites.

Wenger shows that Arsenal have little interest in FA Cup..

Many Arsenal fans would like Arsene Wenger to go all out to win this season’s FA Cup, as they would really like to win one trophy (Please! Pretty please!) in the very near future, and the Cup would be the one we have most chance of winning.

But Wenger clearly thinks that it is more of a hindrance than a target, and would prefer the later stages (like this weeks game) to be relegated to a midweek game so as not to interfere with the title race.

Arsenal face trouble as Koscielny’s agent suggests Barcelona and Bayern interest

There was a bit of concern for Arsenal fans recently after Laurent Koscielny suggested he might want to leave the club to further his ambitions, but when you read the whole statement, it had been taken out of context and sensationalised a bit. He actually said he was happy at Arsenal, but would consider leaving, in the future, if the club continued as it has been in recent years.

Has Koscielny ruined Arsenal’s transfer and trophy plans?

Hello guys. I never thought that I would be writing an Arsenal article of this nature anytime soon, let alone today of all days. But something is up that should worry all Gooners. The news that hit the airwaves just before last season ended is that there are significant sums of money coming in from the puma sponsorship deal and the huge windfall that EPL clubs will be sharing as well, thanks to the newly negotiated Television rights.

Capoue is Arsenal’s main target as Mario Gotze rules himself out

Although there is still some time before the end of the season, there are lots of Arsenal transfer rumours in the papers lately. The Daily Express is claiming that Arsene Wenger tried hard to buy Etienne Capoue from Toulouse in January and believes that the French club will allow the defensive midfielder to finally move to the Emirates this summer.

Arsenal are definitely in need of a hard man in the middle and Capoue would certainly fit the bill for most Arsenal fans, but one player that EVERY Gooner would like to see at the Emirates is the German youngster Mario Gotze. But the Dortmund man has announced that he has no interest in joining Arsenal as he has bigger clubs in mind if he left Dortmund.
