Arsenal star still considering SHOCK transfer exit!!

Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger will have to wait until after the current Premier League season draws to a close, for better or worse, before we have a clearer picture of which players may be still in the Arsenal squad for next season, and the next couple of months and the eight Premier League games left for us to play could have a big say on this.

That is definitely the case with our Colombian international keeper David Ospina, as a report in the Daily Star explains that the current first choice between the sticks is leaving a decision on his future until the summer.

You would definitely say that the last few weeks have increased the chances of him staying at Arsenal, because the injury to Petr Cech has given him a chance he was not likely to get before and he has used that chance to remind us all just what a class act he is.

Ospina said, “Since Petr joined we have built a good friendship.

“However, we are still competing for the spot.

“I don’t want to think about the summer. I’m focused on the present and my present is Arsenal.

“We will see how this season ends, then we will see what happens with my future.”

I wonder if Ospina is thinking about what he can learn from the Arsenal number one if he stays and balancing that against the likely chances of him actually playing. Could it be as simple as whether the Gunners are in the Champions League or not? Or is it a simple choice for the club between him and Wojciech Szczesny?

Is Wenger right to reject this Arsenal transfer bid?

The next game up for Arsenal in this tough period we find ourselves in looks a little easier than the previous three against Liverpool, Stoke City and Chelsea. But even though our FA cup opponents Burnley are one division below the Gunners, they are in very good form.

Arsene Wenger is sure to have one eye on the Premier League match with Southampton three days later and so the Frenchman is sure to rotate quite a few of his first team stars, including handing a rare start to the second choice keeper David Ospina who The Sun reports that the boss has turned down an offer for from the Turkish club Besiktas.

The thing is though, should a second string Arsenal get knocked out of the FA cup on Saturday, how many more chances is the Colombian international going to get this season ahead of Petr Cech. Besiktas have offered a loan deal but surely we could push them for close to the £3 million we paid for him and bring Szczesny back from his loan spell in Serie A with Roma.

Is it right for Wenger to keep Ospina against his will when we have Szczesny who wants to be here?

As it became more and more clear that the Arsenal transfer rumours connecting us with the Chelsea and Czech Republic keeper Petr Cech were right on the money, there was a great feeling of expectation among us Arsenal fans about what difference the talented and experienced stopper would make to our title credentials.

The only question was whether it would be the Poland international Wojciech Szczesny or the Colombian number one David Ospina that would be the second choice for the Gunners. A lot of us wanted Ospina but it seemed that he would not be happy as Cech’s understdy and would be moving on this summer.

I could not have blamed him as his performances for Arsenal proved his talent and that he deserved regular game time. But now it appears that Ospina does want to stay with Arsenal after all, as reported by the Spanish sports daily craigslist detroit women seeking men. He also talked about the transfer rumours linking him to Everton, although his preference is clear.

Ospina said, “I want to continue with Arsenal. I am very happy in London and so are my family. Because of this I hope to complete my four year contract with the club.”

He said he would use the rest of his holiday to analyse the situation and then talk it over with Arsene Wenger. He also said that it would be great to work with Cech and that he hoped to learn a lot from the former Chelsea star. So what has caused this change of mind? I have to assume it is that he can see that Arsenal have a great chance of wiining the Premier League this season and that he has a chance to be a part of great things with a great club.

BOOM! Arsenal have already COMPLETED Cech transfer!!

There is no explanation of why there is yet to be an official announcement about this transfer from either Arsenal or Chelsea, but it has been reported by the usually fairly reliable source of the Daily Mail that the transfer of the Czech Republic number one Petr Cech from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates stadium has been completed.

The paper says that the transfer is costing the Gunners a transfer fee or around £11 million and the keeper will earn around £100,000 a week. It also looks like this will mean that David Ospina will leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window, in order to get the regular first team football his ability deserves, with the Poland international Wojciech Szczesny staying as our reserve and possibly cup keeper.

Good luck Ospina and welcome to Arsenal, Petr Cech.

Arsenal star NEEDS loan move

Szczesny Out and Cech In for Arsenal?

It seems as though the possibility of Arsenal signing Petr Cech is growing by the day. After reports of the Chelsea goalkeeper’s willingness to make the move to North London surfaced, the Daily Mirror is now reporting that Arsenal have already started talks with Chelsea in regards to a £10million deal for the iconic shot-stopper.

In addition, there have also been numerous reports linking Wojciech Szczesny with a loan move to Southampton, who will be without first-choice keeper Fraser Forster for the majority of next season as a result of the Englishman sustaining a long-term knee injury. Saints boss Ronald Koeman will reportedly make an official move once the transfer window opens and the Pole is understood to be willing to make the switch, having realised that his first-team opportunities will be limited, especially now that Petr Cech is likely to arrive.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stated that he would like the Czech Republic international to stay in West London but has admitted that he will not stand in his way should he choose to make the move to Arsenal, considering that Cech has put in a decade of loyal service to the club and has been one of the pillars of a team that achieved so much success over the years.

Quite honestly, it will be the most ideal scenario for Arsenal if we manage to send Szczesny out on loan and bring in Petr Cech. While I don’t really have any issues with David Ospina being the Number One at the moment, I guess Le Prof does not want to miss out on an opportunity to sign a truly world-class keeper, and who can blame him?

Also, I really like the idea of a loan move for Szczesny as I’m sure most Arsenal fans would not have completely given up on him. He’s still very young for a goalkeeper and I’m certain that experience will stop him from making costly errors. But as of now, signing Petr Cech will most definitely be a shrewd bit of business from Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal to let star join Premier League rivals on LOAN! WTF?

I do hope that this latest Arsenal transfer rumour is some sort of wind up. Or perhaps if it is going to happen it is because Arsene Wenger has found something better for the Gunners as letting our Poland international keeper Wojciech Szczesny go to strengthen another Premier League club, especially one who beat us twice this season, seems a bit daft.

A Metro report claims that Szczesny will be playing for Ronald Koeman at Southampton next season in order to provide cover for their England international Fraser Forster who looks set to miss quite a bit of the season with the knee injury picked up last month.

It would apparently be a loan deal, suggesting that Wenger has not given up on Shezzer just yet but while it would help the player and the Saints, I cannot see how it would help Arsenal unless it would give Martinez a chance to show what he can do.

If Wenger is planning to sign a new number one such as Petr Cech, then Ospina would be number two, though, and so I don´t get the loan deal. Do you?

La Liga star heading to Arsenal after DEMANDING transfer?

Arsenal were strongly linked with this Mexico international last summer after he impressed Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal scouting team with his performances during the World Cup finals in Brazil. But the talented keeper Guillermo Ochoa ended up completing a transfer from French club Ájaccio to Malaga in Spain´s La Liga while Arsenal snapped up David Ospina who had also caught the eye with Costa Rica during the tournament.

But we could soon have both keepers at the Emirates according to a Metro report. Ochoa has not settled at Malaga and has only played six times for them all season and that has led him to demand a transfer away in the summer.

The Spanish club are even considering cancelling his contract so things are obviously not good between player and manager but that also means that he will be available to Arsenal for very little. One Gunner who should be a bit worried about this latest Arsenal transfer rumour is Wojciech Szczesny who is already behind Ospina in the pecking order. Could he be set to drop even further back if Arsenal are interested in Ochoa?

Mertesacker – Arsenal deserved to lose to Southampton

Arsenal were undone yesterday by some terrible defending yesterday, and one of our centre-backs Per Mertesacker has admitted that Southampton were the better side on the day. He was asked after the game if he could pinpoint what went wrong for the Gunners. “A lot, when you see the result.” the German said.

“We are massively disappointed because there was a good chance to really bounce back properly but they deserved to win because they did a bit more than us.”

Mane scored the opener for the Saints after both Szczesny and Koscielny both ran away from the ball, and Mane was given oodles of space to curl an excellent chip over Szczesny’s head and into the goal, but Mertesacker didn’t think it was intentional. Per said: “On the first I think he wanted to cross the ball, but it was massively affected by the wind and it was a bit unpredictable the wind. But overall we did too many mistakes and they scored on two occasions.

“The last two games we were in good spirits and those games were close together and we fought really hard for the two wins. But today was slightly different. I think we have to come back to our main strength. But we didn’t show up with a good performance today. We have to remind ourselves every day that we need to have a big performance.”

Good thinking by the BFG, maybe he should set a alarm on everyone’s phone to remind them to play well on matchdays?

Wenger slams referee and Arsenal defence after Southampton defeat

Arsenal had a very UNhappy New Years Day at Southampton yesterday, and Wojciech Szczesny must be wishing he had stayed in bed and called in a sickie after his farcical performance which allowed Southampton to score twice to take the points.

Arsene Wenger felt that the Gunners could easily have won the game if it hadn’t been for the Poles errors, and also because the referee should have sent off Florin Gardos when he stopped Alexis Sanchez getting his usual goal. Wenger said on SkySports: “We must give credit to their ‘keeper today, and as well to the referee that he didn’t give them a red card when Sanchez was clean through,”

“That’s beyond my understanding because I couldn’t see for what reason he didn’t do it. If one against one with the goalkeeper isn’t a goalscoring opportunity I don’t know when it would be one.”

Wenger seems to think that Arsenal were the better team on the day, although the stats show that the Saints had more shots on goal, Without naming names, Wenger was well aware that the two goals were purely down to defensive errors. “That made the difference today,” he said. “At our level, in our final third we didn’t defend well. We were quite in control of the game and we gave it away, it’s as simple as that.

“It’s disappointing because the team gave a lot, but you cannot afford these kind of mistakes at our level.

“It’s a shame because we were not under pressure, we were under control, but we go home with no points. Southampton defended well, the keeper defended well, but we can only look at our defensive performance. We had the chances, we couldn’t take them.

“We could have won this game today, and that makes it even worse for us.”

So Southampton pull four points clear of us again, and even worse Tottenham destroyed Chelsea to move above us in the table as well.

Definitely not a good start to 2015!

Szczesny confident of Arsenal win at Southampton

Three games in seven days over the Xmas period, including two of them away at our direct rivals for Fourth Place, was always going to be a tall order for the depleted Arsenal squad, but with just one game left we are still on target.

Wojciech Szczesny has revealed that nine points was always Arsenal’s target and he is confident we will finish the job at Southampton on Thursday. “When you start the season you always want to win the championship,” the Polish keeper said. “That is the only thought in our heads. But with the position that we are in, we have to look at short-term goals.

“We said before the run of Christmas games we wanted nine points. We have six so far, so we go to Southampton with confidence to get three points. They won’t be short of confidence either after a good result against Chelsea.

“Of course we want to catch up on Chelsea and Manchester City. But for now we have to climb up the table and see if we can put pressure on them.”

It is amazing that we are still climbing up the table with our massive injury list, could it just be possible that we will get our full squad available and really start to challenge for the title? We are only halfway through the season so anything is possible right?
