Arsenal intend to hold Van Persie for last year of contract

Arsenal’s officials have completely snubbed the possibility of Robin Van Persie to leave, saying that no officials offers have come in for the Dutchman yet, and that the club aren’t interested in the possibility to cash in for Robin’s services.

Team captain Robin Van Persie has been delaying his contract extension, and many seem to think that he’s looking to force Wenger in buying as many top players as possible during this summer’s transfer window.

Club chairman Peter Hill-Wood has stated:

“As far as I am aware nobody has made any offer for him and he is away so we are not in any dialogue at all,” said Hill-Wood.

“We’re not in the remotest bit interested in selling him.”

Now that Robin has declared that he won’t be signing an extension, Wenger is ready to lose Van Persie for a free next season rather than cashing in for his services now.

Do Arsenal fans think he should be forced to stay? Or sold for as much cash as possible now?

Arsenal increases interest in Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger decided to go for Anderlecht’s Argentine defensive midfielder, according to TalkSport, in the attempt to bring the 25-year-old at the Emirates Stadium. According to reports, Arsenal is expected to start the negotiations for the player with a £6.5m offer which could force the Belgian team to lower their £8 m demand.

Biglia joined Anderlecht in 2006 and after 5 years he was quoted in Het Nieuwsblad declaring that he is ready to move away from the club

‘I think I have ended my cycle at Anderlecht and I want to do something new,’ Biglia told Het Nieuwsblad.

‘The board know what I want to do. I know that playing for the Argentina national side means I get plenty of exposure and opens lots of doors.

‘Sometimes I feel I have to do more because I am playing in Belgium. I am aware that it would be easier if I was playing in a different league.’

Arsenal’s efforts to sign him were also heard by the Argentine who stated:

“I know that there are movements but they are just usual events to me.”

One of the best agents in UK also confirmed the news saying:

“The interest in Biglia is growing all the time, and yes I can confirm a number of Premier League clubs are checking on him,”

Manager Arsene Wenger is looking for two top midfielders he can bring at Arsenal in January. The Frenchman wants to transfer an offensive and a defensive midfielder, and after the way things went in the summer with Yann M’Vila Wenger seems to have given up on the idea of bringing the French international to London.

Arsenal’s interest in Porto’s Hulk brings the fee to £100m

Portuguese star striker Hulk has been one of Arsene Wenger’s top transfer targets for quite some time now, but the player’s agent Teodoro Fonseca snubs all interest coming from Arsenal saying that the club will only accept to let Hulk go if the gigantic release fee of £87 million is met.

A statement of Hulk’s agent for the newspaper A Bola read:

“Every year there are more clubs interest in Hulk and I am also aware that there are clubs from outside the Premier clubs interested.”

“This Arsenal rumour is news to me but it is true that there has been contact before but nothing happened.”

“But I speak often with Porto and the figures have not changed. He will only be sold if someone pays the £100m so this figure of £23m that has appeared would not be considered.”

It is well known that Arsene Wenger doesn’t like to spend big money on a player and that he prefers to buy a much younger and cheaper player instead of buying a fully established footballer.

Perhaps sometimes Wenger has to forget about his policy in order to bring in top quality players, but this time the transfer fee that Porto want for Hulk is outrageous. The striker is indeed a top class Brazilian footballer, but such transfer fees could only become a fair amount when it comes to Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi. Even if Porto will lower demands up to the £23 million, there is still much to think about for Wenger before spending that amount of money.

Eden Hazard is available for Arsenal according to his agent

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has been very interested in the possibility of transferring Lille’s offensive midfielder Eden Hazard, but the move was blocked by the French club. They wanted to keep the midfielder a little longer in order to have a stronger team in the attempt to get something out of the participation in the Champions League group stage.

Hazard’s agent John Bico admitted that Hazard will probably leave the French club soon, and he left the door opened for a new Arsenal bid.

“He has shown from the beginning of the season that he is able to play for any of the big clubs, including Real Madrid.”, said Bico

“Eden has matured in every aspect. Perhaps next summer will be the moment to leave in search of the biggest challenge.

“Wenger wanted the player but Lille said no to the sale last summer. It’s certain that Real Madrid have been watching.

“I don’t think Zidane’s presence will necessarily decide things. Zidane has always praised him but that, on its own, will not be sufficient.”

Hazard has been playing for Lille’s senior squad since his debut in 2007, and now at the age of 20 he is very close to joining Arsene Wenger’s Gunners. The Frenchman followed the Belgian’s evolution for several years now, and he will surely go back with an improved offer in January after missing on the transfer in the summer.
