The chances of Arsenal being able to unveil the Chile international forward Alexis Sanchez in time for their new kit launch on Thursday just got a whole lot better, apparently. According to the latest Arsenal transfer news in the Daily Star, the Gunners have finally agreed the transfer fee with his La Liga club Barcelona.

Arsenal are set to pay £32 million for the pacy and powerful Chilean, which is more than Arsene Wenger wanted to spend, as usual, but the Frenchman has clearly decided that he cannot afford to drive too hard a bargain this summer. Anyway, with the transfer market and prices the way they are these days, I don’t think it is too bad a price at all for a player like Sanchez.

That is cheaper, apparently, than Luke Shaw’s move to Man United and David Luiz’ move to PSG. It seems the reason that Barca were holding firm on the price was because they needed the money to complete the siging of Luis Suarez from Liverpool. The Anfield mob and our other Premier League rivals Man United were after Sanchez and were willing to meet Barcelona’s valuation, so Wenger was left with little choice.

What really sealed the deal for Arsenal, apparently, was the players own insistence to come play for us, and boy are we happy that he did…

  2. If this deal goes through, I will go to cloud nine! Sanchez is one of the players I dream of for Arsenal. Let the deal go through quickly and let me see him in an Arsenal shirt!
