There has been much talk about the possibility of Thierry Henry returning to Arsenal in a coaching capacity but for now it seems that he has decided against it for the time being, and will instead be taking up a role as a commentator with Sky in the New Year.

The Arsenal legend, who scored 228 goals in his time with the Gunners, said his farewell to the fans in a statement today on France24. He said: “It has been an incredible journey and I would like to thank all the fans, team mates and individuals involved with AS Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal FC, FC Barcelona, the New York Red Bulls and of course the French National Team that have made my time in the game so special,”

“It is now time for a different career path.

“I have had some amazing memories (mostly good!) and a wonderful experience. I hope you have enjoyed watching as much as I have enjoyed taking part.”

At least Arsenal fans will be seeing lots of Henry when he will certainly be discussing Arsenal games whn working for Sky Sports in th UK.

Thanks for the memories Henry. A truly great player for Arsenal.
