It is looking more likely that Arsenal fans will not have to go through the same stress and frustration as in the last January transfer window, as Arsene Wenger has already admitted that he needs to strengthen his squad, especially on the defensive side of things.

It could well be two defenders heading to north London as well. One of those will surely be a centre back, probably an older and experienced player, while the other is likely to be younger and versatile and that one could be Martin Montoya, according to a Daily Star report.

The Barcelona star’s agent Juan De Dios Carrasco has revealed that his client is set to move on from the Nou Camp in January after making just one appearance under the new Barca boss Luis Enrique this season. The 23-year old had previously been used more often and has amassed over 50 games for the Catalan club, including 19 last season, but is now ready to leave La Liga behind and come to the Premier League.

Arsenal and Man United have been strongly linked but Louis van Gaal has hinted that he will not be signing a defender before next summer, so is Montoya bound for the Emirates?
