Two top-class available full-backs deny Arsenal contact

Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he needs to bring in an emergency left-back on loan this month and the two most high profile defenders available at the moment have denied that Arsenal have made any contact with them or their clubs.

Aly Cissoko has made it clear that he is not getting enough game time at Lyon and is keen on a move to the Premier League. He said: “This week, I will speak with the Lyon staff. I reckon I prefer England, but for now, there is nothing done.”

He would be a more than capable replacement for Kieran Gibbs and Andre Santos, but then so would the AC Milan defender Taye Taiwo who also is trying to find a way out of Italy, but his agent, Fabio Parisi, also confirmed that there has not been been any contact with Arsenal.

“At the moment there is no huge news about Nigerian players, with Arsenal there was only a rumour,” Parisi said. “I certainly don’t know that Arsene Wenger is looking for a left-back but at this time there has not been any official offer at AC Milan.”

We are still waiting for a denial from the Omani second division team Fanja SC that Saad al-Mukhaini is NOT going to be at the Emirates for a trial this week. That’s what I’m hoping for anyway! That must be one of the strangest Arsenal rumours I’ve ever heard!

  1. Sadly, it is only the last that will turn out true. Arsenal have become so pathetic under Wenger we cant have guts to get (or even just try) for the best.
