Could it really be, Gooners, that Arsenal are set to outbid one of our big Premier League rivals for a player? I bloody well hope so, because the Juventus and Chile midfielder is just the sort of Patrick Vieira type of warrior that we have been missing in the spine of the team.

The Daily Star is reporting that the Gunners are preparing to blow United, who have supposedly made a bid of around £30 million for the 27-year old, with an offer of £44 million that would break the club transfer record of just over £42 million set last summer with the capture of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.

Vidal is another world class player and Arsene Wenger has been raving about him during his duties as a World Cup pundit. From the glowing way the Frenchman spoke about Vidal, allied with the fact that he proved last summer he was willing to spend big on the right player, there really is hope for Arsenal fans on this stunning transfer.

Wenger said, “Vidal is one of the best midfielders in the world.

“He has everything. Incredible stamina, perfect timing. He’s a marathon athlete who plays football.”

The Italian champions will surely be reluctant to lose one of their star players, but Italian football is no longer at the forefront of the European game and Juventus will find it hard to turn down such an offer. And now that Chile are out of the World Cup finals, Wenger is free to make his move. Fingers crossed Gooners!!
