Welbeck injury news makes Arsenal transfer window even worse

1

You have to believe that Arsene Wenger and his huge team of fitness and medical experts at Arsenal were not taken completely by surprise by the news, reported on the Arsenal website today, that our England international striker Danny Welbeck would not be getting back onto the pitch as soon as we thought. And that has to raise eyebrows in the football world even more about the manager’s failure to sign a single outfield player during the summer transfer window.

Just like our long serving midfielder Tomas Rosicky, Welbeck has had to undergo an operation to fix his injured knee as it failed to respond to the treatment he was having, So that means that we will not see the forward on the pitch again for a good few months, leaving the Gunners with limited options up front.

If there was even a chance of this happening, why on earth did the boss not make sure that he used the club’s huge financial reserves to sign a striker before the window slammed shut on Tuesday? And if he had no idea, then what on earth are the medical team playing at?

Is it just me or do you find this latest injury news not just depressing but completely baffling?
