Wenger announces Champions League plans.

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger made his intentions for the Champions League group stage game against Olympiakos public after the Gunners managed to secure the first spot qualification following the win against Borussia Dortmund.

As everybody expected the Frenchman won’t be wasting the energy of regular first team players on a game which has no real stake, so we can expect the likes of Robin Van Persie, Ramsey, Song, Arteta or Theo Walcott to be rested and some of them won’t probably even make the bench.

In turn, we will be able to see in action Arsenal’s future star and get yet another glimpse at the way Arsenal might look 3 or 4 years from now with players like Coquelin, Chamberlain, Frimpong or Ryo.

These kinds of games are great for Arsenal and it’s a good thing that Wenger managed to make life easy for himself. The first team players could do with a game’s rest and both the fans and the young players are eager to see a match in which the first team will be completely different than it usually is.
