Wenger – I want to win against Manchester City

1

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is going to put his Cup policy of playing young players to rest in this week’s match against Manchester City. The Frenchman declared that he wants to win the match so he will still use some of the team’s important players even though he usually used only young inexperienced players.

“We are reliant on Robin, of course, because he scores many goals. That’s what you want from your strikers.

“Against City, I will certainly play some players who have played less. But still we will try to have a good mixture between young players and experience so we have a good chance to win the game.

“With players like van Persie you have to accept the gamble and the risk.

“We had periods with Thierry Henry going through stages like this, it’s the same.

“Risk is part of the game and enjoyment demands risk. You have to just play full through it and that’s life.”

This can come only as good news for Gunner fans around the world, because it’s a lot more important to win a trophy at the moment than it is to grow Arsenal’s future. Wenger must concentrate on winning at least one piece of silverware this season if he wants to keep the rest of the start at the club and not lose them like he did with Clichy, Nasri and Fabregas.
