Arsenal may be getting ready to `do a Liverpool` and follow up the transfer of one of the Southampton players, Calum Chambers, with another Saint. The player in question is the French international Morgan Schneiderlin, who has been linked with the Gunners all summer.

And a new piece of Arsenal transfer news seems to confirm our interest in the defensive midfielder, despite us having also been linked with Sami Khedira of Real Madrid and Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen. A report in the Metro claims that Arsene Wenger has already held talks with the 24-year old Frenchman over a move to the Emirates this summer, which may explain the angry tweet from Schneiderlin when he was told by his current club that they would not sell him.

Southampton must feel like one of the shops during the London riots, with Liverpool and Arsenal dressed in hoodies looting them. And to carry on the analogy, Schneiderlin must feel like the last item in the shop. The qwuestion is now, whether Southampton try to shut the gate after the horse has bolted, and hang on to the players they have still got, and if they do sell the midfielder, will it be to Arsenal?

According to the report, Olivier Giroud is very keen for him to become a Gunner. He must be lonely with no French people to talk to.
