Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger seems to feel like the Gunners are back in the fight for the top four spots even though they are currently on the 7th position. The 4th place is 3 points away from Arsenal but it looks like the Frenchman is trying to figure out a plan to attack the title and get Manchester City off the first place in the league.
“The whole view is that, after a bad start, we are back in contention to fight for the Champions League places. We’re not at the moment [contending] for the championship but our target is to get back into that position.”
“We have to continue our good run. We had a disappointing draw [at home to Fulham] last week and we want, of course, to come back and continue our run.
“For the rest, it looks like there is a group of seven or eight teams who will find until the end for the championship, with Manchester City looking like the super favourites at the moment. But it’s early in the season.”
City has been on a great run since the start of the season but many critics think that when they will lose a game and start doubting themselves more of the same would come. That would only be a positive thing for Arsenal to see City lose a few back to back games, but at the moment they are favourites to win the championship and if they don’t start losing any time soon nobody will be able to stop them.
