Wenger – We Won’t Transfer Any Midfielder

3

Arsenal’s manager seems to be unwilling to make any new transfers in January, and after he denied any centre-back transfer previously this week, now the Frenchman denied interest in any midfielder as well.

Arsene Wenger was quoted by The Mirror saying: “We won’t be in the winter market for any midfield positions considering that our players are back from injuries.”

This comes as a reply to all the rumours which were linking a bunch of top quality midfielders like M’Vila, Gotze, Reus or Hazard with the English club. Gotze and Reus seemed favourites to join the club in January, but now Wenger doesn’t seem to want that anymore.

Now this can be one of two things. Either the Professor wants to drive attention away from the possible targets so the transfer fee won’t reach enormous amounts until January, or he’s simply not interested in transferring any midfielder.

It’s true that Arsenal does have Wilshere coming back and Diaby regaining form, but Frimpong or Coquelin are not yet ready to face the Champions League at a high level if anybody else gets injured. What do you think?
