Wenger’s respect for Rosicky earns him a new contract

The spectacular performances for Arsenal in the last few games brought a massive change in Tomas Rosicky’s life as the midfielder got the chance to extend his contract with the Gunners. The Czech international’s contract was going to expire in the summer and offers were flying in for him, but his great form earned him the extension.

“It’s felt like home since I arrived six years ago and I couldn’t be happier to commit my future to the team.”, he said.

“The manager, my team-mates, the staff and the supporters – everyone plays their part in making this a great club, and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

“I believe we have a really talented group of players and, together with the manager, the future looks bright.
“It’s always been my goal to win trophies here at Arsenal, and I will fight hard to achieve my dreams here.”

Even though Rosicky didn’t impress for the better part of his career with the Gunners, Wenger seems to think that his skills are worth the trouble for Arsenal.

“I’ve always been a big admirer of Tomas’ abilities and am delighted he’s chosen to commit his future to the club.”, Wenger said.

“I believe he is an exceptional player, a natural footballer who is technically top class.

“He plays the style of football we champion here and shares completely our philosophy. He is always ready to work for the sake of the club, always willing to put the team first. I have huge respect for him.”

Despite his previous injury problems, Rosicky has recently found his earlier brilliant form and his extension is further proof that Arsenal have changed their policy regarding older players and are looking to keep respected and experienced players like Rosicky around as a role model for their up-and-coming young stars.

  1. that is really great news, I’ve always loved the way the little Mozart plays. Its also fantastic arsenal have changed their policy of not extending the contract of players over 30 years.

  2. Great news for arsenal, the last few weeks he has been brilliant, his work rate, his fight, his desire to win and his technical abillity are great,

He has learnt alot in the premier league and he has adapted really well, i still think his prime was lost through his very long injury, such a pity BUT he is almost back to his best,

Theo walcott was named man of the match last night in the necastle game but i had Rosicky as my MOTM, he played brilliant and gave everything until he was subbed, everybody played brilliant and i hope rosicky can continue this great form.

  3. I hope the deal is at least 2 years and we dont make the mistake ever again of allowing a player to get into his last year. rvp song and walcott must be signed up next. walcott has now smashed his assist record and if he can grab 5 more goals he will equal his best ever tally.

  4. Wenger should play him 90 min than playing ramsy who is always loosing the ball and must add santos in the first 11 because he creats space for other players like barca is doing for Theo. Walcot….

    1. I am totally support of ur comment, rosicky should be played 88mins or 90mins than playin ramsy dat loses ball anyhow witout challengin 4 d ball back.rosicky had performed wonderfully wit his great ability and vision to lay passes.ramsey should be played as a sub, rather than been started.
