Whose Fault Was Jack Wilshere’s Injury?

5

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke about a possible injury caused by too many played games by young hotshot Jack Wilshere that we actually thought at a certain point that Wilshere will grow old on the bench.

Wenger was so convinced that Wilshere needs to be taken easy and not forced to play too much, that he was saying that every two weeks or so, so why did the young Gun get that injury Wenger seemed to be so careful about?

The fact is that Wenger’s injury problems with Fabregas and Diaby forced him to play Wilshere a bit more than he would have liked to, and ultimately his fears became reality when Wilshere got a stress fracture which caused another one and ended up keeping the young midfielder away from the pitch for a whole season.

So it’s basically Wenger’s fault, because even though he got used to having important players injured and sometimes having to figure out a completely different team layout due to the massive injuries, he doesn’t seem to learn from these things. He even accused that Arsenal players are being targeted and injured intentionally, so why doesn’t he simply bring in as many quality players as it takes to have top backups?

Sure, situations when 4 out of 4 full-backs get injured during the same period of time can’t be predicted nor avoided, but we’re talking about situations when one or two midfielders’ injuries cause a complete meltdown. And Wenger’s been lucky enough for Robin not to get injured this season, or else he would have paid a great price for the horrible summer transfer window.

Amazing. You realise there are limits on the maximum size of the squad, and nationalities of the players. Not to mention how much money it would cost to keep more “quality players” who would apparently be willing to just be “top backups”.

“but we’re talking about situations when one or two midfielders’ injuries cause a complete meltdown”
No it didn’t. Wilshere did a great job last year, but he got injured. It’s just one of those things. This year, we’re coping without him pretty well. We would all prefer he was in the squad, but it’s one of those things. Was it Wenger’s fault Frimpong got injured again as well? Or Eduardo? Or Diaby or Ramsey?

It doesn’t mean that there is no problem, because we do consistently get too many injuries, but it’s not one that can realistically be fixed by just throwing money at it. Maybe some tough decisions need to be made, but every one carries a risk. Many would have discarded RVP by now, but since he’s been able to shake his injury problems, he’s been carrying the side in terms of goalscoring. WRT Diaby, as an example, Wenger said he wouldn’t give up on a player as long as he still had the desire to return, and I think that’s a great policy, but it does carry a risk (like everything else I suppose. Rosicky has finally started to play something like the player we signed from Dortmund again, but perhaps Diaby’s progression since his big injury has been more debateable, at least in terms of his ability to stay fit (however, personally I think he’s played very well for the most part, particularly in DM).

  2. its sad what am seeing… arsenal has became a 4-5 place league team… when an arsenal fan says “This year, we’re coping without him pretty well. ” ud assume that we are challenging for the title… wake up.. this is arsenal… we should be title challenging … the board has got the fans brain washed and now they accept 4-5th position without complaining.

  3. So there are no other opportunties for the Wenger haters to have a pop at him about, let’s go with this one for now shall we?? You really need to have a word with your missus as you are clearly not getting enough attention!!
