Why Arsenal trip to QPR the PERFECT set up for Man Utd clash

If you asked the Arsenal boss what he would have preferred from Wednesday´s trip to face QPR in the Premier League, it would probably have included plenty of Arsenal goals and a clean sheet against a lacklustre side that the Gunners did not have to break sweat to beat.

As we know, the game turned out to be far from that. But the most important thing for Arsene Wenger was ror us to get the three points and move on to the FA cup game at Old Trafford on Monday night. And from what the Frenchman said about his team´s gritty and hard won win at Loftus Road, reported by Arsenal.com, it is obvious that he was pleased with the performance as well.

Wenger said, “The first half was very physical and we needed to be resilient and focused on winning the fight. We had be patient, focus on our game and get the ball down and play.

“Slowly we did that in the last 15 minutes of the first half. The second half we controlled very well and played very well.

“I felt that our game was fluent, quick, sharp. Overall it’s a great win and a deserved one.

“[The first goal] was a classic counter-attack. We made many good ones tonight but Rob Green had an outstanding game and kept them in it.

“I wanted the team to continue to attack, because we are not a team that can sit off and wait for the teams who commit and get them only on the break. We need to master possession and we did that well.”

Mertesacker back in form, Alexis Sanchez breaking his goal drought, Giroud scoring again and Coquelin starring in midfield were all great news for the Gunners.

I feel that this could be the perfect preparation for Arsenal, as we can expect another tough away game against Man United, with lots of pressing and physicality. Coming through one tough game well makes us more likely to handle the next one so the Arsenal players should be in good spirit and ready to defend our FA cup trophy. We all hope so at least.
