Although Arsene Wenger publicly offered his support to the under fire Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere last week, there is a feeling that the Frenchman could finally be losing patience with the 23-year old who joined the club as a promising nine year old back in 2001.

A Metro report claims that Wilshere’s latest public smoking gaffe, when he was pictured in a nightclub holding a shisha tobacco pipe, could have been the last straw for his manager. And that could open the door for the Gunners’ Premier League rivals Liverpool to swoop for young Jack when the transfer window opens in the summer as they seek to find a replacement for the long serving Steven Gerrard.

And it might not be just the smoking thing that is causing Wenger to consider letting Wilshere leave the club, as this season has been yet another which has seen the player struggle with injury problems. Jack is back in training though and will hope to stay injury free for the rest of the season, but will that really be his last chance to show what he can do for Arsenal?

  1. He can leave as far as some of us are concerned. We have plenty of play makers – too many to fit in ….. tho Wenger’s approach is to play ALL of them somehow !
