Wolfsburg chief ready to allow Draxler transfer to Arsenal?

Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger will have been very interested to hear the comments of the German club Wolfsburg’s sporting director this week, as Klaus Allofs dropped a big hint that the Bundesliga outfit will not be too resistant to the transfer of their Germany international star Julian Draxler to Arsenal.

As an Evening Standard report explains, Wolfsburg are not being their usual stubborn selves over this possible transfer and that should be very encouraging to Wenger who is said to be about to launch a transfer bid for the player he tried to sign before a couple of years ago from Schalke.

Draxler enjoyed a good debut season with Wolfsburg, scoring goals and providing assists as well as creating chances on a regular basis. But his contribution was not enough to earn Wolfsburg a place in the Champions League or even the Europa League and that seems to be a major factor in our hopes of signing him.

Not only has it made the player keen to move on but it has affected the club’s financial situation quite badly and with their sponsors Volkswagen facing big problems after all the faked emission issues it looks like they will have little chance but to sell.

Hopefully Arsenal fans will soon have a second summer signing to celebrate.
