It is a sign of the times I suppose, but it is still quite a surprise to see that Arsenal is now seen as the better option than Manchester United for top quality players when it comes to a transfer. At least that is the message you get when you read the report in The Mirror today that reveals that Morgan Schneiderlin would rather become a Gunner than a Red Devil this summer.
Even though both clubs are in the Champions League, we do not have to face the stress and strain, and possible disappointment, of the play off games. And finishing above United in the Premier League table has brought us other benefits as well.
Despite the massive transfer funds available to Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, most of the people with food football knowledge see Arsenal as the club most likely to challenge for a major trophy. So you can understand why a player like Schneiderlin would rather sign for the Gunners.
But the question now is whether Arsene Wenger feels the same way about the player as he does about our club. Do you think Schneiderlin will be an Arsenal player before the end of the transfer window?
