Yet another striker target can be crossed off Arsenal’s wishlist

In what will come as yet another blow to Arsenal, the Gunners target Julien Draxler will not be moving to London this summer, with his current side unwilling to let the German star go.

Over the past week or so rumours have increased on the Draxler to Arsenal transfer saga and as always Arsenal fans had begun to imagine life with Draxler at the club. The Gunners however are set to be let down once again this transfer window, as yet another target escapes from Arsene Wenger’s clutches. Arsenal have already missed out on the likes of Vardy, Mkhitaryan, Janssen and Morata and now it seems that Draxler is set to join as the latest player to NOT be signing for Arsenal this summer.

Wolfsburg’s club director Klaus Allofs has recently been speaking to the German press about Draxler situation at Wolfsburg and although it was rumoured that the club may have to sell the promising forward due to costs and a lack of Champions League competition, it now seems as if they will be keeping hold of the player that interests many sides.

Allofs recently told Sport1: “The situation with Draxler is 100 per cent certain that he will be staying at Wolfsburg. There is no discussing that.”

It’s a short and sweet answer from the club official and sadly it brings the little hope Arsenal had left in this deal, down to a complete end. Draxler is now unlikely to be leaving Wolfsburg this summer and even if he does wish to move on it seems likely that Wolfsburg will be holding on tight.

Draxler would’ve been an expensive but fantastic addition to the Arsenal squad, as the young German international is already showing plenty of promise in his abilities. He has had a few good seasons in Germany now and with even better service surely available at the likes of Arsenal, it would’ve been interesting to see him in the Premier League with the Gunners. However now unless something dramatic happens at Wolfsburg, Arsene Wenger and Arsenal may have to wait a little longer before they can get their hands on the talented frontman.
