Arsenal and Chelsea bosses actually AGREE on EPL title race

When I say that the Arsenal manager and his rival from Chelsea agree on the Premier League title race, perhaps it is more accurate to say that both Arsene Wenger and Antonio Conte are saying the same things about the season being far from over and there still being a chance that the Blues could blow it and lose out to the Gunners or any of the other clubs making up the top six of the EPL table.

Whether Wenger actually believes his words is another matter, but he was reported on Sky Sports this week telling the world that Arsenal are not done yet and that he and his team have not given up on being crowned champions just yet, even if most Arsenal fans think that we have more chance of winning the jackpot on a Pay By Mobile Casino!

Wenger said, “It is never over; we are not to behave like that. Even if you [reporters] think like that, I don’t.

“We look at the teams who surround us, we are all in a pack that is very tight and the fight for every position is massive as it has always been in the Premier League – maybe even more so this season.

“[Top four] is always difficult but maybe even tighter than ever. The way we respond to a disappointing result last Saturday is vital.

“If it is over [title race] for us, then it is over for everyone else because we are in a pack there.

“They [Chelsea] have an advantage – they don’t play in Europe, they play for nothing and have no midweek games.”

Conte clearly does not want his players to take the title for granted even though they have a big gap down to Tottenham in second place. He was reported by the BBC claiming that even Manchester United down in sixth place and 14 points worse off than Chelsea could still do it.

He said, “I think there are six teams who are very strong and can fight to win the title.

“Manchester United? Yes. They have a great squad.

“There are 14 games to play and five teams as well as us who can fight to win it. It’s important we don’t make mistakes in the race.

“There are teams at the bottom who win and draw so you must have the right concentration.

“If your ambition is to stay in the top four or top six, you can have highs and lows.

“If you want to win [the title] you must have concentration and focus and know that in every game you can lose points.”

So it appears that both Wenger and Conte think that Arsenal could beat Chelsea to lift the EPL trophy in May. Do you agree?
