The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s efforts to sign French defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila will have to increase if the Gunners are planning on landing the 21-year-old star because Italian giants Inter Milan have also eyed him.
At a very fragile age M’Vila managed to become Rennes’ icon and an all important player for the French senior national squad with his amazing performances. The defensive security and his excellent through balls make him one of the best on his position in the world, but despite all this he’s still playing for a small club.
Arsenal have attempted to transfer him in the summer and then again in the winter but all attempts were blocked by Rennes who wanted to sell him for more money after the EURO 2012 championship from the summer.
Now that Inter Milan are also on his trail the Frenchman will surely be sold for a lot of money but it’s going to become even harder for Wenger to convince him to join.
M’Vila’s contract is still due to run until 2015, but the French club are rumoured to be prepared to let him go for a fee of £22m in the summer. Given that the Gunners only have Song and Coquelin on the defensive midfielder role this seems like a highly probable move.
Should Wenger try and bring him to Arsenal this summer?
