Arsenal face more competition for Matias Suarez

The Arsenal top target Matias Suarez is being highly scouted and likely to leave Anderlecht in the summer according to the club’s general manager.

Anderlecht’s striker has been a target for Arsene Wenger for almost two whole seasons now, and it was widely reported that Arsenal had secured a pre-contract agreement with Suarez for his arrival this summer, but it seems that is far from the truth right now.

“There are 15 clubs that are willing to put the money on the table for Suarez,” Anderlecht general manager Herman van Holsbeeck told Het Nieuwsblad.

“Juventus is of course included in that and there were already bids from Russia but his wife did not want to go there.”

“Is Suarez worth more than Lukaku? He has more technical ability, but Romelu’s fee was also determined by his age,” Van Holsbeeck said.

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is still trying to cut a deal for a striker, but it seems that the chase for Suarez will be a tough one with so many other clubs interested.

Wenger is well known for shying away from bidding wars and that the Gunners would have much better luck looking at other strikers, perhaps Giroud or the Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz.

Who do you think should Arsenal choose to transfer?

  1. All the names mentioned, except for Podolski, are not tested at the highest and most demanding level. I believe it can be anyone of the names mentioned, but with Arsenal, it might just be a cheaper option from all the ones available. Yilmaz anyone???? 😀

  2. Arsene wenger could sign all three players for a reasonable price.Olivier Giroud is first choice, and cheap so is worth the risk.
    Burak Yilmaz and Carlos Casemiro.
We need more players in the squad to overcome injuries and challenge for trophies.
I do not rate podolsky in so much as he doesn’t have the power like the top three mentioned and is expensive in comparison.
