Arsenal finally completed the first bit of transfer business of the winter window last week after the hold ups on the work permit for the Egyptian midfield star Mohamed Elneny were finally sorted out. But there are still almost two weeks for Arsene Wenger to further strengthen the squad and give the Gunners an extra boost in our quest to win the Premier League for the first time in 12 years.
We have already signed a midfielder of course but that is the area of the pitch that has been the hardest hit by our injury problems and so we are still being linked with various other players for those positions. One of those has been the Swiss international Granit Xhaka who is currently starring for the German Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.
And despite the 23-year old being a key player for them, The Mirror is reporting that the German club have admitted that they would let him leave if the right offer came along.
Their sporting director Max Eberl told a German radio station, “It depends a bit on our own sporting success, it depends on Granit’s own performances and of course it depends on the figures.
“If they reach a certain level, then you could start to get dizzy. There are always situations in which every club would have to make considerations.”
So there you go Arsene, but do you think another midfielder is on the Frenchman’s transfer wish list and if not, who is?
