Arsenal get REAL with Mahrez to follow Lacazette transfer

Arsenal fans already knew that Arsene Wenger was a big fan of the Leicester City and Algeria international star, because he tried to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City last summer. Hardly surprising after all the goals and assists helped the Foxes to a shock Premier League title triumph.

We also know that the Frenchman was not too fussed about the fact that Mahrez did not enjoy the same stellar season last time around because he said as much last month and even hinted that he might try again during this transfer window.

And now that Wenger has added the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon to the early signing on a free of the Bosnian international Sead Kolasinac, Mahrez is apparently firmly in the Arsenal manager’s sights. According to a Metro report Wenger is now fully focused on the Foxes and getting their wide attacking star Mahrez to north London, in a deal said to be worth around £35 million.

With Monaco apparently wanting a crazy amount like £80 million for their similar sort of player Thomas Lemar, this sounds like good business to me and it also shows that Arsenal and the boss have got real about what it takes to be crowned EPL champions.
