Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger regrets having lost the City game, because he knows that the club will have a much stronger team for the second half of the season. Wilshere and Diaby will be soon coming back according to Wenger, and several transfers will also be brought in.

“We hope to have (Jack) Wilshere and (Abou) Diaby back so in midfield we have the numbers required.

“But at the moment we are short at the back and if Gervinho and Chamakh go to the Africa Cup of Nations we are short up front more than midfield.”

Wenger declared that even though Djourou was not substituted for a big problem, he’ll probably be out for this year.

“It is a groin problem. Usually that is 21 days.”

The manager will now be looking for at least a full-back who can probably play on both sides, or at least that would be ideal. With Sagna and Santos out for at least another 3 months Arsene will have to start counting on Gibbs, Jenkinson and potential incomings to do the job because having 4 centre-backs proved to be useful only against smaller teams and not against clubs with top attacking units like City.

  1. Has diaby ever played 4 straight games at arsenal before? What kind of coming back is arsene talking about? Isn’t it time to ofload that crocked leg called diaby? Is it not the same come back he had in november? He should transfer to spurds!
