Without any reliable insider information on the transfer comings and goings at Arsenal, we are often left to trawl through the myriad of Arsenal transfer rumours desperately hunting for a crumb of truth. Sometimes you think you have got a handle on what Arsene Wenger is planning but often as not the Frenchman then goes and surprises you anyway.
So when I say that the Gunners could be just days away from completing the brilliant transfer of the French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin from Southampton, it is because a report in The Mirror has revealed that the player himself has confirmed that he is in transfer talks and that he hopes that his summer move will be sorted very soon.
Schneiderlin said, “Talks are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days. I hope it will all be concluded before pre-season begins next week.”
Arsenal are not the only club that he could be talking to though, as there have been strong links with Tottenham and Man United as well. Spurs have no Champions League football to offer though and United still have to get through the play offs and are also said to be about to sign Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich. I hope that means that Arsenal are in pole position and will soon complete the signing of this key addition.
