Arsenal are apparently switching their focus from Gonzalo Higuain and Stevan Jovetic to make a move for Fenerbache’s 27-year old Senegalese striker Moussa Sow. Sow has been on Arsene Wenger’s radar for a few seasons since he was at Lille where he was extremely prolific in the Ligue 1 competition, scoring 25 league goals in a season.

Arsenal are wanting to pay around £10 Million for him but the Turkish giants will want closer to double that amount. If Fenerbache play hardball and demand more from Arsenal, the deal will probably be called off just like the deals for Higuain and Jovetic may have been.

The deal for Higuain hit a stumbling block when Juventus got involved and were offering more for the player. Higuain was also more interested in a move to Italy rather than North London.

It was a similar situation with Jovetic as Juventus declared interest and made a bid. Fiorentina wanted more money. Jovetic at first said he would prefer a move to Arsenal but then later changed his mind and said he wanted to stay in Italy. Then his agent added to the mess and started demanding more money for him and his client which caused Arsenal to look elsewhere for the time being.

Wenger was interested in Sow when he had a partnership with Eden Hazard and Gervinho on the wings and he tried to bring all three players to the club at the same time but in the end he only got Gervinho.

Sow is a great goalscorer with good pace and decent heading ability. Personally I think he is too similar to Olivier Giroud apart from the pace. He would still be a good addition to the squad so long as another striker was to be purchased as an alternative to Giroud and Sow.

After being put off Higuain and Jovetic, Wenger has cast his eye to Moussa Sow. Would you like to see him playing at Arsenal next season?

  1. Every striker that’s linked with Arsenal so far, are all quality strikers. But linking a player to a club is not as same as buying such player. From time past, Wenger has always done the scouting for other clubs in England.. Wenger plssss for the sake of US the club’s passionate fans who has waited in vain for eight good years, intensify ur prep and get one of this strikers for Arsenal if u love the club as we do.

  2. pls wenger love arsenal has you loved us before! Pls pay players wages stop scouting players for our opponent they were using this to defeat us too.
