Any lingering doubts about Arsenal being able to complete the transfer of the Czech Republic international Petr Cech will soon be over once and for all. I for one had my doubts about Chelsea agreeing to the deal and have had a suspicion that Jose Mourinho would get his way and veto the move of his veteran keeper just as he did with Demba Ba a year or so ago.
But with the Evening Standard reporting that the transfer fee has been agreed at around £11 million and the keeper’s personal terms are all sorted, with Cech set to earn around £100,000 a week, the 33/year old is at the Emirates today to complete his medical.
This is always just a formality and there is no way that the transfer would have reached this stage if the Stamford Bridge club were not going ahead. So we can look forward to the official announcement of this fantastic transfer deal for Arsenal. Great news for the Gunners and hopefully just the start of a top summer of transfer action.
