Arsenal set for biggest EVER transfer splurge after Liverpool disaster?

Not even Arsene Wenger could come up with anything positive to say about his Arsenal team after the Gunners were completely outplayed in a 4-0 humbling by Liverpool at Anfield. Surely even the Frenchman can no longer claim to be happy with the quality and depth of his squad as he tried to say after last weekend’s defeat to Stoke City.

The good news for Wenger and for the Arsenal fans is that there are still a few days of the summer transfer window left and that gives the boss a great chance to sort out his problems before it is too late. Wenger must be aware that the Arsenal fans are furious and frustrated about the lack of transfer action so far and about the way the new season has started.

So with large cash reserves at the club and a desperate need for a boost to his playing options and the general mood around Arsenal, I think we could be set for at least two more signings and they will need to be good ones. According to The Mirror we are still hopeful of getting Thomas Lemar from Monaco and maybe even Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton, but they won’t come cheap.

The Gunners could spend over £100 million to land those two, so with the club record purchase of Lacazette we could be set for the biggest transfer window splurge ever.

  1. welbec and hollding are not good enough for arsenal. same arsen and wors is STAN CRONKE. WHY arsenal fans not asking to go agains kronke. Arsenal need somoane who invest. bring in USMANOV

  2. You can spend even 200 million, but it is useless so long as AW is in charge. Ramsey should be released as he does not understand his role. I doubt Aw understands either.

  3. To me, l feel Arsenal Board of Directors are all unserious people. To start with, what Wenger still doing in the club? Is it not very obvious that his brain and football coaching mentality is derailed, tell me how can you have Olivier Giroud, Lacazette and the big Kolasinac on the bench against Liverpool, why buying them if you know you will not use them! Giroud was our best attacker , he’s proven striker and decided to add more force in that area by bringing Lacazette yet none of them started. Wenger’s time is gone. Arsenal and Wenger stop giving people heart attack. Alexis, Ozil and Ox must go, its very clear for Wenger is no longer focused as a person let alone as a coach. He should be sacked now to save our dear club.
