It is being reported in one of the many Arsenal transfer rumours that Arsenal have had, or are about to have, a transfer bid of around £9 million rejected by Newcastle United for their French international star Moussa Sissoko. The Mirror are reporting that we may already be in negotiations and that is the offer on the table.

If they do, or have, rejected it, I wonder if Arsenal will try again. It could be worth it, even if the offer is not increased or only by a little. This is because the departure of their manager Alan Pardew for Crystal Palace may have changed everything.

It may have changed the mind of the owner Mike Ashley, who had apparently gave Pardew a promise not to sell their best players, and the excellent Sissoko is certainly that and the fact he can play in various positions makes him very important.

It might also change the mind of Sissoko hinself who apparently said that he was happy to stay with his current club, at least until the end of the season. I definitely think that it is worth Arsene Wenger’s time to test the water and see if Sissoko could be available.
