If the latest Arsenal transfer rumours are true, then Arsene Wenger not only has a massive transfer war chest to spend this summer, but he also has a list of transfer targets to spend it on. And right at the top of that list, according to a Sky Sports report, is a new striker.

The report, which comes from an interview with the Arsenal director Lord Harris of Peckham, also claims that Wenger has identified the player he wants and is in the process of persuading the other club involved to sell the centre forward in question to Arsenal, with the suggestion that the player is keen.

So with Metro reporting that the Turkish club Besiktas are preparing to make an offer of around £10 million for the Arsenal and England forward Danny Welbeck, could Wenger be tempted into the shock transfer of the player he signed from Man United less than a year ago?
