Arsenal surely cannot lose this striker transfer battle

You can understand sometimes when Arsenal are beaten to the punch in some transfer battles, with Premier League clubs like Man City and Chelsea packing more financial fire power, or the willingness to use it, than Arsene Wenger and our board, or when other clubs around Europe like Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich can offer much more hope of major trophy success to players.

When it comes to a transfer battle with one of the EPL clubs who have less money, though, and who regularly finish below Arsenal in the league table, you would expect Arsenal to seal the deal, so if the report about Wenger making a late transfer bid for M’Baye Niang, who was set to sign for Everton, it should be a foregone conclusion.

Why Arsenal are after the 22-year old AC Milan and France forward is another matter, after he failed to have much impact when playing on loan for Watford at the end of last season. Wenger and Arsenal have been linked with Niang before though, so maybe the boss reckons he would be a good addition to the Arsenal squad.

We shall see.
