Arsenal Target Keen on English Move This Summer

Borussia Dortmund’s officials have finally admitted publicly that their star player Shinji Kagawa is unwilling to sign a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions. Furthermore, the Germans stated that Kagawa has spoken about his interest to continue his career in England.

The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly has a great interest in the attacking midfielder and given the big need of such rare breed of footballers at Arsenal, Kagawa might join this summer.

The Dortmund director of sport Michael Zorc said yesterday: “As of today he is not willing to extend his contract,” Zorc admitted.

“I spoke to Shinji and his advisor last week and he is not willing to extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund.

“We have a Plan A and B and we will follow one of them.

“We won’t gamble, but he has a specific career plan and he plans to play in England.

“We have to accept that, even if we don’t find it good.

“While there is no economic need to sell him, he has a certain market value so we have to follow this with an economic sense.

“We will continue to have dialogue, but if another club expresses an interest then we will listen.”

The only problem Wenger might face, but a big one, is that Chelsea and Man United are also highly interested in the 23-year-old’s abilities, and a battle between the three is unlikely to result in a win for Arsenal, especially given Chelsea’s financial potential, but he would be the perfect player to fill the empty void left by Cesc Fabregas’ departure last season.

  1. Arsenal has a good working relationship with BvB and wenger should take advantage of this. If we miss out on Gotze then we should go for Kagawa.

  2. Kagawa wud b a gud addition,to play infront of song, wenger wont buy him.i dnt know why!

  3. why do people just keep lining evey player that is linked with us to Man. U or Chelsea? Can these two clubs sign all the players in the world? If they can then let them go ahead. Why do people always believe that we can not compete financially? The truth is that we can contest for any player with any team in the world but we wont be engaged in a useless war bid.
Podoski is wanted by many clubs but we signed him.
I know that if Arsenal want a player and it make economic sense to buy him, we will.
