Arsenal team news with Gibbs captain and Giroud IN against Reading

Arsene Wenger must be feeling pretty confident that his Arsenal team will bounce back from the Premier League draw with Middlesborough to beat Reading in the EFL cup tomorrow. Not only is Le Prof going with a much changed side at the Emirates, he has revealed a lot of the changes that will be made in an Arsenal.com report.

The Gunners boss is going to completely change the back four, with the summer signing Rob Holding to partner Gabriel in the middle and with Carl Jenkinson set for the first game since his long spell out with injury. Kieran Gibbs will be the other full back and just like in the last round of the cup away to Nottingham Forest, the England international defender will captain Arsenal.

Wenger did not say as much but I assume that he will also rest the number one keeper Petr Cech and start David Ospina or even Martinez. The other big news is that our big French forward Olivier Giroud will feature, although it is not clear if he will start or come off the bench, with another summer signing Lucas Perez also in line to play.

The Frenchman revealed, “Cazorla will not be available, but it looked after the game that apart from some tired legs and disappointed minds, we had nothing else to declare.

“I think Olivier will be included, but for Aaron it is too early although he is back in full training now.

“It will be a similar squad to against Nottingham Forest. We will have Gabriel, Holding, Jenkinson will be back and will play. Jeff Reine-Adelaide will play, otherwise I think Iwobi, Lucas, Oxlade-Chamberlain will also play. Gibbs – who captained the team at Forest – will do it again on Tuesday.”
