Poor old Brendan Rodgers must be getting sick of Arsenal. Not only did the Gunners give his side a lesson in football towards the end of last season, we also showed them that it is not as easy as he thought to qualify for the Champions League year on year.

Even when they did have a place among Europe’s elite to offer last summer, Arsenal still beat Liverpool to their top transfer target Alexis Sanchez. According to a report by The Telegraph, that is going to happen again this year and the player in question is another striker, Alexandre Lacazette.

The 24-year old was the top scorer in France last season, with an amazing tally of 27 goals in 33 games and it looks like that will earn him a step up to the Premier League. Liverpool have reportedly been on the transfer trail for this striker all summer but they are wasting their time as he has declared that he would only leave his current club for one with a place in the Champions League.

So with Arsene Wenger said to be a fan and scouts from Arsenal having watched him closely, is Lacazette set to join the ranks of the Frenchmen in north London?
