While most Arsenal fans were hoping that Arsene Wenger was going to depart from his usual cautious approach to a transfer window this summer and add quite a few players for the season to come, a lot of us were also hoping more than expecting this from the Frenchman and so far that is the way it has been.

If you believe the latest Arsenal transfer rumours that could be about to change, as the Gunners could be about to go transfer crazy and sign not one but two new centre backs to compete with the likes of Per Mertesacker, Gabriel, Koscielny and Chambers.

The Daily Mail is reporting that we have almost completed the deal for the promising young Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers after he completed his medical yesterday and Bolton accepted our offer of £2 million for the 20-year old.

According to The Sun though, Wenger is not stopping there as he is also looking at the Man City and Belgium international star Jason Denayer and the Borussia Dortmund and Germany centre back Matthias Ginter.

Either one of these would probably be more likely to feature for the first team this season than young Holding who is more for the future and may well be loaned out, but at least it shows that our manager is not just twiddling his thumbs.
