Arsenal transfer boost as Dortmund agree to sell Hummels!!

Arsene Wenger may have to use some of his famous negotiating skills to get the transer fee down to something that Arsenal can afford and are willing to pay, but the news that one of our main transfer targets for the January window, Mats Hummels, is available is a big step forward.

The Borussia Dortmund and Germany international defender is currently recovering from a minor injury problem and the Gunners are hoping that he fails to recover in time for the Champions League clash between the two clubs next Wednesday. But after that we want the talented 25-year old to get back into action and prove his fitness.

And then Wenger will have a big decision to make before the transfer window opens in the new year, because Metro have reported that the news from Germany is that Hummels will be sold if the price is right. The problems is, however, that the Bundesliga club are talking about £47 million for their centre back and Arsenal will want to get that down a bit.

We might also have to sell a few players to balance the books, but Arsenal can afford this transfer. It is now just a question of whether the club agrees to spend the money.

  1. We have no option but pay if we want quality,so often in the past we have missed out on players of his quality because wenger’s tight fisted approach. It’s obvious to everyone that we are in dire need of cover in defence and this is a world class player so come on pay up and don’t be so stingy.

  2. If Dortmund sell Hummels, he will not go to Arsenal, I will bet my limbs on it. The club is run by short sighted fools who don’t understand that the way to make money is to be successful, but they choose to make their money by getting by and charging fans more.

  3. Yes, hummels has a big price tag but he can take the team to a whole new level. Koscielny’s absence has highlighted mertesacker a faults. As much as I love BFG, he is vulnerable without kos.

We’re a quality DM and a couple defenders away from a title challenging team. He’s still only 25! He can be the heart of our defense for at least 5 years! It is a good investment. The only big money spend that’s needed other than defense is a world class striker so why not spend big on the defense?!
I believe we’re only 2 seasons away from being strong contenders for champions league!!
