Arsenal are looking for the services of Argentine defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia according to his agent Enzo Montepaone, and are expected to submit a bid for him in January.
The 25-year-old Anderlecht defensive midfielder is one of Arsenal’s targets according to his agent, but Fiorentina or Milan have the upper edge.
“I know that Fiorentina officials went to Belgium to have a look at him and that they spoke to Anderlecht about trying to sign him in January,” Montepaone told calciomercato.com.
“Interest from AC Milan? Yes, I can confirm that there has been in the past, but there has never been anything concrete.
“Fiorentina’s interest is real, but Arsenal also like him a lot.
“Italy has always been his dream and, as he holds an Italian passport, a move to Italy is very likely.
“It is, however, important to pay attention to Arsenal.”
Wenger is looking to bring someone who can help Song with the defensive responsabilities, and if the deal for M’Vila won’t go through Biglia would be a useful addition to the club. He’s a regular first team player for the Argentine national team since 2011, and he would be the second South American player at the club after Santos.

if i am in wengers shoe i will go for m,villa cos he is one of the best holding midfielders in the game and he is also one of the reasons why french football is coming up again.
This is good news cos this is one area am interested to see Wenger bargaining, anyone of them is very good so far we have strong midfield am covered, then a quality striker better than RVP and I promise you title this season cos we will become unstopable till the end. Up Gunners !
Why do we need another holding midfielder? We have Song who is fantastic. We also have Frimpong and The Cog, we also have Arteta who has been outstanding.
Then we still have Wilshere, Diaby, Ramsey, Yossi,
Rather spend the cash on an awesome striker and creative midfielder
I dont think Wenger will buy any DM’s. We already have Song who is not going to African Nations as his country didnt qualify and we have two fantastic players in Coquelin and Frimpong. These two can be world class given proper run in. So dont think Wenger will dip into the market. It is a no brainer.
We are not in need of any defensive player 4 now, we Francis Conqulin and Emmanuel Fripong fight to be d second choice to Alex Song and dis are 2 great player, pls wenger go 4 a striker in d mode henry and one left full back bco’s Kieran Gibbs is injury prone.
Nataraj is right, our main priority should be a striker who can also play on the wings. Very poor article, you clearly have very little knowledge about how Arsenal do business, there current squad and its needs. The only way this will happen is if we get a DM for free, Coquelin leaves for more playing time & Frimpong goes out on load.
