Arsenal wary as Tottenham talisman Kane to START in derby

It is just about typical of Arsenal´s bad luck with injury problems that Arsene Wenger is having to do without a number of big players as he prepares the team for the north London derby clash with Tottenham tomorrow, with the likes of Lucas Perez, Danny Welbeck and Per Mertesacker not due back for some time.

At least Kieran Gibbs and Santi Cazorla are set to be back in action for Arsenal soon, but they are out of this crucial local grudge match. Just to rub salt into the wound it seems that our rivals Spurs will have their own key man back from injury just in time.

Harry Kane has been missing for a few weeks and Tottenham have been struggling without him. When the striker did not even make the bench for their Champions League defeat to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday it appeared that Kane would only make the bench this weekend if anything but their manager Pochettino has revealed that Kane is fit enough to start, as reported by the Evening Standard.

He said, “I need to decide whether it is starting XI or bench, but it would not be a risk to play him,” said Pochettino. “We try to avoid the risk.

“If he is on the pitch or the bench, it’s because we’re sure it’s not a risk to play him.

“In football you can’t avoid all risks because it’s a contact sport, but the doctor said he is available to be selected and that is because there is no risk of injury.

“We are happy after yesterday when he had a very good training session. He is fit. It is very good news for us that he is back.”

It might be good news for them but it is a worry for Arsenal as Kane has a very good record against the Gunners. If he is fit enough to start then you can be sure he will, so is our new look defence up to the task?
