Arsene Wenger not interested in talking about Arsenal rumours

With the transfer window coming up rapidly there will be hundreds of Arsenal transfer rumours appearing more or less every day in January, but Arsene Wenger personally has no interest in listening or talking about them.

There has already been numerous talk of the unhappy Lukas Podolski looking to move away to gain regular first team football, but Wenger said yesterday that he will simply be ignoring anything in the press.

He said: “I don’t give any importance to rumours. There was a rumour two days ago in France that I offered £62 million for Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain. Everyday there is a different rumour so I don’t give importance to that.

Regarding Podolski, Wenger continued: “In every big club you have some players who don’t play and they are not happy. If you find players who are happy when they don’t play you have a problem. He [Podolski] will play. Rosicky had an outstanding game today and he didn’t play for a long time. Our job is always to be ready when you play.”

I guess it’s still possible that Arsenal ARE interested in making a bid for Cavani, but he was simply saying the rumour about the price was ridiculous, but to be honest, I doubt very much we would go for anyone at that price!
