It is probably just as big a relief for Danny Welbeck as it is for Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal fans, to be fair. Because the slight hamstring strain that the 230year old striker picked up while on international duty could not have come at a worse time for Welbeck, as it looked like it might stop our new centre forward from facing his former club.

It is not as if Welbeck feels any particular resentment towards them, as he is a Manchester lad and clearly has a lot of respect for the club. But it is always a special occasion for any player to face his old club, especially when you have something to prove.

So to see the pictures of him in full training yesterday on Arsenal.com, after Wenger said he was due to have a test on his hamstring, prove that Danny has recovered and that is great news for the Gunners.

The lack of chances to prove himself in the United team, especially in his preferred central role certainly gives Welbeck every encouragement to show that they were wrong. Louis van Gaal has also given the England marksman fresh cause this week by bringing up the subject and declaring that he still would not get into the United team, despite his stats for Arsenal this season being better than all three of the big name United strikers.

Go on Danny, show United just what they are missing.
