Arsenal have already signed a new defender this summer, although there has not been too much fuss over the transfer as it was for Rob Holding, a 20-year old who has only played one full season for Bolton Wanderers as they finished bottom of the division below us.

He has been included in squad for Arsenal’s mini pre-season tour of America, though, so we should at least get a chance to have a look at what Arsene Wenger has brought to the club. Another player included in that squad is much more important to us and his name is Hector Bellerin.

There have been some worrying Arsenal transfer rumours recently linking him with both Barcelona and Man City and some reports claimed that the young right back was interested, so the news reported by The Mirror today that he has made it clear that his football home is in north London is a huge relief.

It looks like he might have more competition for his first team place from Matthieu Debuchy this season but that can only be good for the Gunners. With Gibbs and Monreal competing for the left back position and with Holding joining Mertesacker, Chambers and Koscielny, do Arsenal really need any more defenders?
