Chelsea Lead Arsenal In Attacking Midfielder Chase

London rivals Chelsea are set to make a move for one of Arsenal’s summer transfer targets. Shakhtar attacking midfielder Willian might be in for a move to London in January, but even though the Gunners expressed a big interest in his services a few months back, the offer won’t be coming from the Emirates Stadium as expected.

Willian has emerged as an incredible talent and since he joined Shakhtar in 2007 he became a vital part of the Ukrainian team and even made his first two appearances in Brazil’s senior national squad. The 23-year-old helped the Ukrainians reach European glory in 2009 when they won the Uefa Cup, and also managed to win 7 trophies with the club in Ukraine.

The attacking midfielder was one of the favourites to join Arsenal in the summer, but the arrival of Mikel Arteta solved the problems for Arsene Wenger who stopped looking for another midfielder.

Now everybody knows that he wants to add to his midfield collection and Willian could be one of the most important candidates after missing out on some of the attacking midfielders which were linked with the club in the first half of the season.
