I must admit to being a little worried when Arsenal only announced one new player yesterday, even though the Gunners beating Liverpool, Man United and Juventus to the signature of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona was a real coup for us. The signing of Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last summer was the same, but I think we can all agree that Arsenal could have done with more; another striker at least.

But it seems that I had no need to worry and that Arsene Wenger is not going to leave us all dangling until the last minute again. The Daily Star have revealed that Lee Dixon, the former Arsenal and England right back who spent six years under Wenger at Arsenal, has spoken to his former boss and has let slip that we have already secured the services of the France and Newcastle star Mathieu Debuchy.

Dixon tweeted, “Just spoke to Arsene. He’s very happy about Sanchez and Debuchy.”

Why the Gunners did not announce the 28-year old right back along with Sanchez, we do not know, but it is clear that Debuchy will be playing for Arsenal in the coming season. With around four weeks to go before Arsenal have the chance of another trophy, with a Wembley clash against Man City in the Community shield, it seems that the Fr4enchman is keen to get his new Gunners signed up in good time to help us get off to a good start.

So is it `In Wenger We Trust` again?

  1. “so is it in wenger we trust again?”

Who else would you rather have? He is an all time great and I can assure you in terms of managers we are the envy of most of the footballing world

  2. “In Wenger we trust” has always been it! They never has been a doubt in my mind. I know a few friends of mine and some other Gunner fans have been put to shame; not just the AAAs.
