Denilson – My Lawyer Has Spoken To Arsenal

Loaned-out Arsenal defensive midfielder Denilson has admitted his interest in a permanent deal with Brazilian side Sao Paulo, as the former Gunner failed to impress in London and had to be sent on loan so that he can get some playing time.

After the season spent on loan in Brazil, Denilson now wants to sign a permanent contract with the Brazilian side, being unwilling to return to the Londoners.

This might fit in perfectly if we take into consideration the fact that Arsene Wenger has been watching Sao Paulo’s attacking midfielder Lucas Moura, and might think about a possible exchange deal which may benefit both sides.

“There is the possibility of maybe signing a four or five-year contract,” Denilson told Estadao.

“My lawyer talked to Arsenal and they asked to wait to see what happens in the Brazilian Cup before talking again.

“Anything could happen. Sao Paulo are doing their best to keep me, but I prefer to focus on my work and think about that later.”

“There are two options – a permanent contract or extend the loan deal.

“If we advance to the Brazilian Cup final, Arsenal might extend the loan deal for two more weeks, and I will accept that decision as I want to play in the final.

“I have already done my part, showing my intention of remaining here [at Sao Paulo].”

Arsenal can’t use Denilson’s services at the moment truly speaking, as they are looking to better the form they had last season and have a say in the title chase. Arsene Wenger will be looking to bring a top defensive midfielder and it seems that M’Vila and Javi Martinez are the most likely to join.
