From reading what the Arsenal manager has been saying in the build up to the Premier League away match at Manchester United today, I get the distinct impression that we are heading to Old Trafford with a bit of a fear factor. If I am right then Arsenal could be just about the only club that still does.

Wenger told Arsenal Player, “We have some difficult away games, but sometimes the difficulty raises the awareness and the focus [of the team]. That’s what we want.

“We go into a very difficult game on Sunday. We have a good level of confidence and we want to use that level of confidence that we gained from our win against Leicester to have a positive result.”

Maybe Liverpool are also still struggling to get over the old days when Sir Alex Ferguson’s United always seemed to get the best of us but Arsenal really have no need to look at this fixture with any trepidation, especially after we gave them a football lesson at the Emirates this season and we also won at Old Trafford in the FA cup quarter final last season.

But we also lost at home to them in the Premier League last season and only took one point from them under David Moyes when everyone else was relishing their fall from grace.

Today is the first time in Premier League history that Arsenal go to Old Trafford as favourites but if Wenger and the players do not share the confidence of the bookies, are we about to let Louis van Gaal and his bang average team off the hook?
