Don’t worry Cesc, if Barcelona don’t want you, there will always be a place at Arsenal for you. And that is what looks like happening after the Spanish La Liga club appointed Luis Enrique as the new manager, following a first trophyless season in years meant that Gerardo Martino was out of a job.

The previous boss seemed keen on Fabregas, but the appointment of Enrique seems to have signalled the end of the road for our former midfielder. To be honest, he may be better off out of it, because the Barca fans have treated him like dirt, after what he did to get back to his boyhood club. Also, it feels like the end of an era at the Nou Camp, while a return to Arsenal for Cesc could coincide with a return to glory days for the Gunners.

It is reported that Louis van Gaal wants the 27-year old at Man United, but Fabregas has Arsenal in his heart and Arsenal have a clause in his contract. The details are not totally clear, but it seems that we have to be informed if Barca plan to sell to any other club and we get first refusal. If we don’t take it, we are still due part of the transfer fee, or profit.

The upshot of it is that Arsenal can get him if he is moving on, which appears ever more likely. Good news Gooners!!
