Giroud injury ensures Arsenal luck is still all BAD

Some might say that Arsenal had lady luck on their side yesterday because we came back against a very strong Everton side after being 2-0 down with less than 10 minutes on the clock, but there was nothing lucky about our goals, unlike the second scored by Everton which should have been chalked off for two separate reasons.

And our bad luck did not stop there either, because a strong challenge from Distin right at the end left our striker Olivier Giroud sitting on the pitch nursing his ankle. Arsene Wenger then suggested, as reported by ESPN, that it did not look likely that the Frenchman would be able to start against Besiktas on Wednesday. That is a massive game and we already have The3o Walcott and Yaya Sanogo unavailable.

So those two harsh yellow cards for Aaron Ramsey in the first leg in Istanbul are looking even more of a problem, because the Welshman is our main goal threat after the strikers. Wenger may be forced to try Alexis Sanchez through the middle again, but he also admitted that the Chilean was not physically match ready yet and the first half at Everton did not offer many signs that he will be an able deputy for Giroud, not yet at least.

It would be nice if the Gunners got a bit of good luck every now and then, but don’t hold your breath. If Arsenal started an undertakers business, people would stop dying!!
